A dental crown is a custom-made cap that covers and protects a damaged tooth, restoring its strength, shape and appearance. A bridge replaces missing teeth using crowns on the neighbouring teeth or implants. We offer natural-looking ceramic zirconium crowns and bridges, as well as crowns on implants.
About the treatment
Crowns — sometimes called caps — restore teeth that are badly decayed, cracked, chipped, worn or weakened after root canal treatment. The crown is custom-built in the dental laboratory so it looks, feels and functions like a natural tooth and blends in with your smile.
Where a less invasive option is possible, your dentist may first suggest a filling or veneer. If the damage is extensive, a crown gives the best long-term protection. When one or more teeth are missing, a bridge or an implant-supported crown can fill the gap.
We use strong, aesthetic ceramic zirconium for crowns and bridges, including crowns in the visible front (aesthetic) zone and crowns on implants.

Your dentist examines the tooth and explains whether a crown, veneer or filling is best.

The tooth is gently shaped and impressions are taken. A temporary crown protects it in the meantime.

Your crown is custom-made by a dental technician to match the shape and colour of your teeth.

The final crown is checked for fit and bite, then permanently bonded in place.

With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, a well-made crown can last for many years.
The tooth is numbed with local anaesthetic during preparation, so the treatment should be comfortable.
Usually two: one to prepare the tooth and take impressions, and one to fit the final crown made in the laboratory.
A crown covers the whole tooth and is used when it is badly damaged. A veneer covers only the front surface and is mainly used to improve appearance.
