About the treatment

What are white fillings?

When a tooth is damaged by decay, a fracture or wear, a filling restores its shape and function. Modern white composite fillings are bonded directly to the tooth, so less healthy tooth tissue needs to be removed than with old metal fillings.

The procedure is simple: the area is numbed with local anaesthetic, the decayed or damaged part is gently removed, and the composite is applied in layers and shaped to match your tooth. Finally the filling is polished and your bite is checked.

Cosmetic dentistry goes further — reshaping chipped or uneven teeth, closing small gaps and replacing old dark fillings to give you a natural, healthy-looking smile.
